And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trails of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you. He will never leave or forsake you.
Don’t you see, you planned evil against me but God used those same plans for my good.
I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.
I run in the path of your commands, for you have set my heart free.
2 Timothy 4:7
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for man.
